There’s been quite a bit of talk on alkalizing diets and basically it involves eating foods that will put your body into a more alkaline state instead of an acidic state. There are many health benefits to keeping your body in an alkaline state including better uptake of minerals and nutrients as well as healthier looking skin.
The best way to think about it is to think of you as a plant. You’re living in the ground and depending on how acidic or alkaline the soil is will affect you greatly. At high acidic levels you will be unable to absorb minerals, so there may be plenty of minerals in the soil but no matter how hard you try you can’t absorb them.
If you have dabbled in gardening you will know that when a plant is not receiving the correct nutrients or is deficient in a mineral it will start to show signs, such as yellowing leaves, and some root rot. The same thing happens with us we are deficient in something it will show not always on the outside but your body will crave the missing nutrients.
Getting a balance between acidity and alkaline will mean you can absorb all your need nutrients without being deficient in areas.

How can my body be in an Acidic state?
Its very simple to get your body into an acidic state eating the things people eat these days, this is mainly over processed and refined foods. Someone with a diet high in meat and other processed foods will be in an acidic state.
How to bring my body balance back to a normal state?
Its not as tricky as you would think just increase your intake of fruit and vegetables. If you concerned about the sugar content of fruits then stick to vegetables as they are generally better for alkalizing your body.
Some great products you can try to get into a more alkaline state those deep green vegetables or vegetable products. Some of my favorites are wheat grass, barley grass, and spirulina. They are also amazing for the huge variety of vitamins and minerals they contain but I will talk about them more in future post.
