Improving Connection Between Body and Mind – Introduction to Meditation

So this is a bit of a different post from the usual health ones , thought I should mix it up a little.

The importance of a strong connection between body and mind is being more and more neglected in our lives , sure we are feeding ourselves better foods , healthy foods , exercising and all the rest of it. But our body and mind still remains quite a distance apart , we need to take a moment to think about our body and mind. Are they talking to each other or are you simply following one or the other.

Here are some simple exercises to improve connection between body and mind, Yes you might think they are silly at first but we have to master the simple thing before we move onto harder ones. A better connection between body and mind can mean a healthier body and spirit and a feeling of well being. Some people might be skeptical and that’s fair enough its basically about relaxing taking sometime to center yourself in this hectic world we live in.

Simple Exercise

1. Find a comfortable seat and relax

2. Clasp your hands together in front of you

3. Now unwrap your pointer fingers so they are now creating a triangle together

4. For the exercise hold them so your fingers are about 1cm apart

Now the aim of the exercise is to use your MIND to tell your fingers that your fingers are like magnets with a north and south poles. First try telling your fingers that your fingers a negatively charged and therefore want to move away from each other. Then try telling them to come together. Now don’t just physically move them get your MIND to tell your BODY to move them. When you start to concentrate you will start to feel a difference between simply moving them physically and moving them with your mind.

And for you non believers just give it a go, relax and remember there is no time limit it takes as long as it takes, your mind should not be rushing or eager for results just let it happen. Goodluck this is probably a really introductory thing to meditation I will talk about chi, ki, chakra in the future.
