Pea Protein Isolate Review – Whey Alternative

Pea protein Isolate

Pea protein Isolate

So a great alternative to taking whey protein to get all your ptoein needs is to try different protein powders from different sources, such as rice , pea or egg protein.

I recently tried pea protein isolate , as it seemed like a good change to my regular whey.  Even though pea’s are considered carbohydrate dense , you don’t have to worry when taking a pea protein isolate as all the carbohydrates have been excluded. It all has a great amino acid analysis. It is also LACTOSE and GLUTEN Free :) .

Texture

The texture is very fine and dry, but can become a little clumpy overtime. Its best to add the protein once you have added water and using a shaker cup is the best way. I’ve tried mixing it with a spoon but  it can take a bit of mixing to get it fully dissolved.

Flavour

The flavour is very different from whey , and it taste slightly savoury and seems to stick to your pallet and make your mouth feel a bit dry. You will get used to it and it can actual be quite tasty after a while.
