Copper

The main idea behind this copper brush is that copper is well known for killing bacteria and fungus , so it would make sense that it will help yeast issues with your scalp if this is the cause of your dandruff.

Results

To be honest after a few months of use with this brush I would have to say there has not been any great change in my dandruff issues, but dont right it off straight away as it still a great brush , nicely built with strong metal bristles.

Combing your hair in general will help your dandruff as it will remove little bits of dandruff stuck to your scalp, letting your scalp breath easier and of course improving circulation to roots and scalp. So I did notice a little improvement but it was probably due to me combing my hair for the first time in years:)

I would give this brush 3.5/5

So as far as Bragg’s apple cider vinegar go the flavour is excellent compared to other apple cider vinegar’s I have tasted. Unlike many other ACV the flavour can be very acidic and it almost feels like this vinegar is not made from apples. Bragg’s has a lovely strong apple flavour which is a refreshing change.

Bragg’s also has the mother intact which is the beneficial bacteria found in aged ACV , the bacteria contains all the good digestive enzymes, vitamin and minerals. So dont forget to drink the murky looking cloud even though it may look a little scary.

Along with the regular benefits of apple cider vinegar the flavour of this product is what really makes it for me and it taste delicious mixed with a fruit juice or just by itself.

What would you say if i said you could be spending all this money on multivitamins and all its doing is giving your pee a nice shade of orange or green. This may well be the case with some of these cheap supermarket multivitamins you see around the place.

The problem with multivitamins is that there not real food (yes good deduction my dear watson) and this means its like playing lucky bingo when it comes to your body absorbing the vitamins or not, and then there’s also the problem of vitamins and minerals that conflict with each other.

For example taking calcium and zinc at the same time will leave you plenty of calcium and a toilet bowl full of zinc:P. High zinc levels lead to low copper levels and all that stuff but that’s a post for another day.

Multivitamins are so inferior to real food as they are just plain old manufactured minerals and they come with no digestive enzymes found in your foods, or the necessary combination of other nutrients to ensure you absorb the minerals you need. This is where it gets tricky and you start to research every vitamin, what your lacking and you start to go bonkers.

If you are going to take multivitamins its wise to stick to the higher quality ones, and the best way to tell the good from the bad is to actual physically look at the table of contents and see what sort of vitamins and minerals you are getting and most importantly in what forms. There is a big difference in the chance of absorption between a zinc oxide and a zinc amino acid chelate. I am no pharmacist wizz kid but it was around 20-30% for oxide and 60-65% for the chelate. Even they aren’t fantastic odds and you wonder why you bother taking them. But its a gamble pretty much and hopefully when your body needs it , it can tap into the available vitamins and minerals.

Another good way to get your vitamins is to try a natural superfood something like spirulina which contains a great vitamin and mineral analysis , also high in protein and many great plant enzymes all that photosynthesis gives you. Some companies are starting to make multivitamins derived from real sources so its a good idea to look out for them.

I hope your not too confused , whenever I talk about this topic I end up a little confused too ,but in the end its probably best to take some kind of multivitamin, our poor mother earth’s soil isn’t as rich as it once was.

Yes its the art of breathing, we should all be masters by now but sometimes when you take a look at how you breath you realize your taking shallow breaths and exhaling only shorts bursts of air.

This means we end up holding a portion of old air all the time, which is not great and there are many benefits to breathing properly.

When breathing in try and keep your breaths nice and deep and exhale fully so all the air leaves your body , this way giving yourself fresh air every time you breath. Generally it is good to breath through the nose to filter out all the nasties and exhale using your mouth, but then again what ever you feel comfortable with is best.

The benefits of a good breathing technique include

- Better circulation

- Better recovery from exercise and in general

- Giving your organs sufficient oxygen

- Improved circulation , blood carrying nutrients to your body

its not a revolutionary idea but with our busy lifestyle’s its hard not to take speedy little mouse breaths all day long. Just take some time during the day to really relax and take in that oxygen sweeet oxygen.

Happy breathing.

The concept of fighting bacteria & infections as a community is becoming more and more relevant as we see new threats from bacteria to our health , and especially at time of writing the threat of swine influenza.

The basic idea behind fighting bacteria and infections as a community is to reduce and eventually stop the use of any sort of antibiotics to treat bacteria caused illnesses. We all want the quick fix but with more and more people heading looking for antibiotics at the first sign of a cold these bacteria are developing an antibiotic resistance and evolving rapidly.

The Super bug

With more and more people using antibiotics this means the virus or bacteria is know very used to fighting off these antibiotics until with antibiotic resistance they evolve to a state where the antibiotics will be deemed ineffective. Which now leaves us with a choice try and fight it without antibiotics which could take a long time, or produce stronger antibiotics to treat the new strain of the bacteria.

And there you have it the super bug is born, a bacteria or virus so powerful that nothing can stand in its way.

As a community fighting these bacteria and infections without the use of antibiotics will give the bacteria no reason to evolve and leave it in its primitive form. Which means we can fight it off easily with a couple weeks rest.

You will find that alot of communities are already trying to do this, as you will start to find it harder to get your GP to prescribe your antibiotics as they have been directed to give out less.

Obsession with Cleanliness

Another worrying area is the huge increase in the use of hospital grade disinfectants , cleaners and bleaches. We have all become so germaphobic that at the very first sign of germs we get out our chemicals and spray the heck out of it. This is doing the same thing giving bacteria the chance to evolve and giving our bodies no chance of building up strength to fight off these bacteria’s naturally.

I dont know what were all afraid of we have hundreds of little bacteria surrounding us everyday some bad and some beneficial and we’ve lived with them for as long as I can remember.
